I was in New York yesterday, January 24, to attend the annual Union des Grand Crus Bordeaux tasting. This year featured wines from the just released 2014 vintage. Overall the 2014s are beautiful wines! They are well balanced, with excellent depth of fruit and ripe and round tannins. This is due to a spectacular Indian Summer where September and October 2014 turned out to be two of the warmest and driest on record.
But perhaps the best thing about the 2014 Bordeaux are the prices – they significantly less expensive than the 2015s and every other vintage now on the market. I am sure that we will Not see prices this low anytime soon if ever again for classed growth Bordeaux from a very good vintage! I highly recommend these 2014s

"After a series of lackluster vintages, Bordeaux comes through with shining colors. The best 2014s offer exquisite aromatics, finely sculpted fruit and polished, silky tannins, all signatures of a late-ripening year. There is little doubt 2014 is the finest Bordeaux vintage since 2010."
