2009 Bordeaux Futures Offering

The 2009 Bordeaux Futures campaign began this week with the release of prices for several highly rated petit chateaux and cru bourgeois.  These will undoubtedly be the ‘best buys’ from this sensational vintage.   I was in Bordeaux the first week of October 2009, during the harvest, and I can testify that the weather was perfect.  I have never seen such gorgeous grapes.  I then returned in late March to taste several hundred 2009 Bordeaux.  I definitely agree with all the other wine critics that this is indeed a great vintage and that there are superb wines from the top to the bottom of the price scale.  I expect several more wines, including some classed growths, to open in early May but it will be late May before most of the big names open.  Stay tuned for our regular updates.
