2020 Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou - St. Julien
Lastly, the 2020 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is another legendary wine from this château that has been on an incredible run over the past decade. A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot that was brought up all in new French oak, it has a saturated ...

2015 Chateau Haut Brion - Pessac Ex-Chateau release
A blend of 50% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Haut-Brion is reticent to begin, languidly revealing crushed black cherries, ripe black plums and wild blueberries with sparks of cinnamon s...
2019 Chateau Haut Brion - Pessac
The black cassis comes out of the glass, together with iodine, sandalwood and subtle moss and wet-bark undertones, then turning to violets. The palate is mind-blowing, with a cashmere texture that unravels on the palate and continues on for minutes. It’s ...
2000 Chateau La Clussiere St. Emilion
Now extinct, as this tiny 2.6-acre micro-vineyard was absorbed into Chateau Pavie, the 2000 La Clusiere (100% Merlot) was bestowed a perfect score seven years ago, and I see no reason to change that as it remains a monumental effort. Aromas of creme de ca...
2019 Chateau La Mission Haut Brion - Pessac
The 2019 Château La Mission Haut-Brion is Merlot-dominated, checking in as 53% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc. It's a more opulent wine compared to Haut-Brion, and the Merlot is front and center here, with ripe, sexy black che...
1982 Chateau Latour Pauillac
Always somewhat atypical (which I suspect will be the case with the more modern day 2003), the 1982 Latour has been the most opulent, flamboyant, and precocious of the northern Medocs, especially the St.-Juliens, Pauillacs, and St.-Estephes. It hasn't cha...
2019 Chateau Margaux - Margaux
Is the 2019 Château Margaux the wine of the vintage? A strong case in its favor could certainly be made. Soaring from the glass with aromas of blackberries, raspberries, rose petals, violets, pencil shavings and vine smoke, it's full-bodied, layered and s...
2009 Chateau Montrose - St. Estephe (750ml) Ex-Chateau Release [PRE ARRIVAL]
Jean Bernard Delmas' goal was to find perfect equilibrium between freshness and concentration, given its incredible opulence and the voluptuous character this vintage offered. That's what this wine has in abundance. With an astounding dense purple color, ...
2020 Domane Serrig - Vogelsang Grosse Lage
The 2020 Vogelsang Grosse Lage is pure, deep and intense on the spectacularly fine, mineral and absolutely unique nose that reveals concentrated but elegant and spicy-mineral fruit with a coolish and herbal terroir expression. A show-stopping nose! On th...
2019 Guigal - Cote Rotie La Mouline
The 2019 Côte Rôtie La Mouline is a bigger, richer Côte Rôtie. Co-fermented with a solid chuck of Viognier and around 85% destemmed (the same as the La Turque), this full-bodied effort has a kaleidoscope-like bouquet of bloody black and blue fruits, tapen...
2021 Lail - Cabernet Sauvignon Napa J.Daniel Cuvee
Lail's 2021 J. Daniel Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon blends lots from several high-end vineyards, including Heimark (Calistoga), Vine Hill Ranch (Oakville) and Steltzner (Stags Leap), plus Lail's own Mole Hill on Howell Mountain. It's an exciting wine, starting...
2022 Susana Esteban - Foudre Alentejano (750ml)
We recently received a small allocation of the coveted "Foudre" bottling by esteemed Portuguese producer Susana Esteban. Up until today, the only white wine that Revista de Vinhos, Portugal's leading wine publication, had ever given a perfect score to was the 2018 vintage of Susana Esteban's Foudre, her remarkable old vine white field blend aged in a single Alsatian cask from 1961.
For the second time ever, Revista de Vinhos gave a white wine a perfect score, and again it was for Susana's Foudre, this time for the just released 2022 vintage. (Sadly, because she only has one foudre in which the wine ages for 18 months, she only makes the wine in even numbered years!).
The wine is sold out in Portugal.
Translated Excerpts from the review: "100 Points. A perfect white... It is textured, deep, vigorous, wide, long, racy... It's impressive how many layers this wine has and how many sensations it awakens. It's the Beatles, Tom Jobim, Cole Porter and Debussy. All at the same time..."
