1800 Tequila was launched by the Beckmann family, tenth generation descendants of the founders of Jose Cuervo, taking its name from the year the family first experimented with aging tequila in oak. While the brand debuted with its Añejo in 1967, the Silver expression followed later, in 2004, and has since become one of the line's most widely poured entries.

Silver is made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, harvested after eight to twelve years of maturation. The agave is double distilled, and the resulting spirit briefly rests in American and French oak, sometimes for as little as fifteen days and up to two months, before being blended with a selection of other white tequilas to build out its final flavor profile. This short oak contact and blending step set 1800 Silver apart from tequilas that skip resting altogether.

The nose brings fresh agave together with bright citrus, light herbal notes, and a touch of floral sweetness. On the palate, crisp grassy agave leads into citrus zest and gentle minerality, with a soft sweetness likely drawn from its brief time in barrel. The finish is clean and medium in length, closing with faint pepper and a whisper of vanilla.

"Made from 100% Weber blue agave ? aged for 8-12 years and harvested at their peak. The liquid is double distilled, and a special selection of white tequilas is blended together for added complexity and character. The result is a premium tequila with a smoother, more interesting flavor than most on the market. The clean, balanced taste with hints of sweet fruit and pepper is perfect sipped neat, on the rocks, as a shot or in a cocktail. "
