2023 Louis Jadot - Pouilly Fuisse 1er Cru

Beginning with the 2020 vintage a group of vineyards of the Pouilly-Fuisse appellation were granted Premier Cru status. Jadot, as a leading producer of the region, has embraced this advance in a unique manner. This wine is composed of grapes from multiple unique sites newly elevated to Premier Cru. The resulting assemblage presents a recognition of the potential quality of these sites, which are celebrated on the front label.

Harvest Note
Winter and early Spring were unusually warm and dry however March brought much-needed rainfall which led to homogenous flowering in May. Stormy weather in June was followed by mild late summer, and an unusual September heat wave. Harvest was finished on September 16th, and by picking only in the cool morning hours freshness was preserved.
Tasting Note
Aromas of candied lemon and acacia flowers lead to a palate sensation of brioche and wet stones. The texture is broad and expansive while supported by bright and ripe acidity. This white wine has a finish which is quite long and complex that contributes to its amazing elegance.

  • WINERY Wine runs deep in the Faiveley family’s blood, as they have been deeply rooted in Bourgogne, its history, and its culture for almost two centuries now. Their values have remained unchanged over the last seven generations and are based on a deep attachment to the Bourgogne region, an instinctive passion for the terroirs, and an innate respect for man and his work. Today they are one of the largest owners in Burgundy, with holdings spreading from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte Chalonnaise, featuring polished, collectible reds and whites with exceptionally high ratings.

WINE This village lies between Meursault and Chassagne Montrachet and offers exceptional terroirs in which the Chardonnay grape variety thrives. Vines have been cultivated here since the 12th century although it was not until 1879 that Puligny added its name to that of the more reputed Grand Cru: Montrachet.
