The 2022 Aventura Tinto was produced with 40% Aragones (Tempranillo), 40% Touriga Nacional and 20% of an old vine field blend, all from granite soils. The wine is in a fresh style, without oak, perfumed with a floral note (violets from the Touriga?). It's...
Shows a nice core of dark currant and fig fruit that's been steeped with anise, alder and bittersweet cocoa. Give this a little time in a decanter or cellar for another couple of winters. Possesses the stuffing to cover slow sipping over a weekend. Drink ...
The 2017 Late Bottled Vintage Port is a typical Douro blend bottled in 2022 with a bar-top cork and 104 grams of residual sugar. This takes the lively Croft 2016, another of the Fladgate Group's houses, and adds a little depth. More importantly, it adds w...
A structured Chianti Classico with black berries, black cherries and hints of cedar. Full-bodied, chewy and flavorful. Needs a year or two to soften. Structured red. Best after 2023
A fresh, expressive red, this also exhibits tension, lending energy to its black currant, cherry, licorice and cedar flavors. Graphite and salty accents add detail on the long, tightly wound finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now t...

Incredibly spicy, the 2022 Etna Rosso bursts from the glass with a wild

This is the estate's flagship, coming from three high elevation sites in the Greve Valley. The Terreno Vineyard on the eastern flank of the valley gives aromatics and beautiful fruit; Le Bonille, also on the eastern flank, lends structure and minerality; Sillano, very high on the western flank, contributes freshness and depth. Bear in mind that Greve is in the far northeast corner of the Chianti Classico. The northern part is cooler while the eastern side is hillier and therefore the northeastern corner is the coolest of all (Chianti from the western and southern communes can be weightier and more sun-soaked).
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates, and a second sorting is done at the cellar. Fermentations are spontaneous in steel, with subsequent élevage in large casks, primarily 24hl, for 14 months. No fining and bottled with a light filtration. ~3,000 cases.
Iron, cedar and wood-char aromas waft from the glass before potent black fruits, dark oak spices and espresso flavors fill the mouth. A full web of tannins holds together blackberries, blueberries and singed-herb notes.
A streamlined version, with a pure beam of cherry and blood orange coulis zipping through, flecked with red tea and savory hints. Offers a light mineral echo through the finish. Drink now through 2030. 10,000 cases made.
Dense and dark fruit aromas are juicy on the nose of this bottling. Loam, clay and wet wood elements add earthy nuances. The palate is well structured, showing hearty blackberry, cracked pepper and coffee bean flavors.
An expressive version, with generous notes of ripe tropical fruit, including papaya, grilled pineapple and mango. There's also a wonderful sense of restraint in the way the acidity and supple texture play with the flavors. Touches of vanilla shortbread, c...
Creamy and elegant, with apricot and nectarine flavors up front and a touch of marzipan to complement Meyer lemon, Fuji apple and fennel grace notes. Reveals a touch of sea salt minerality on the fresh, vibrant finish. Drink now. 12,050 cases made.
