BlackSalt Restaurant
We are thrilled to invite you to an extraordinary evening featuring one of Bordeaux’s most legendary estates: Château Angelus.
Yves de Launay, Executive Vice President for the Americas, has arranged to ship us—directly from the Château—an exceptional lineup: three vintages of Angelus and two vintages of Carillon d’Angelus, perfectly paired with a stunning multi-course menu from our neighbors and friends at BlackSalt.
Yves will personally guide us through this rare tasting, offering insights into the wines’ history, terroir, and timeless elegance. With its Premier Grand Cru Classé “A” status, Angelus represents the pinnacle of Saint-Émilion—wines of richness, perfume, and extraordinary longevity. This is a unique chance to experience multiple vintages of bottles that retail for well over $500 each, in an intimate setting with world-class cuisine.

The 2024 Alter Ego is a very sexy, polished wine. Silky contours wrap around a core of dark red-toned fruit. Floral and spice overtones lend brightness to a mid-weight, supple Alter Ego that will drink well right out of the gate. Pliant and inviting, with...
2023 Chateau Alter Ego Palmer - Margaux (Bordeaux Future ETA 2026)
The 2023 Alter Ego is plump, juicy and super-expressive. Soft, silky tannins enshroud a core of plum, red cherry, spice, menthol and mocha. All the elements are so nicely balanced. A burst of red-toned fruit and spice lingers on a finish lifted by bright ...
2022 Chateau Alter Ego Palmer - Margaux (750ml)
The 2022 Alter Ego is bright, punchy and focused. Floral notes meld into a core of red/purplish fruit, spice, mint and orange peel. Medium in body and gracious, with sublime balance, Alter Ego is superb. In fact, the 2022 is one of the most rened edit...
2019 Chateau Amiral Beychevelle - St. Julien
The second wine of this terrific estate located on the southern edge of Saint-Julien, the 2019 Amiral De Beychevelle sports a dense purple hue to go with ripe black (and some blue) fruits, notes of tobacco leaf, cedar, and damp earth, medium-bodied richne...
2016 Chateau Angelus - St. Emilion 750ml
The 2016 Angelus is a total stunner. Despite its late bottling in September 2018, the 2016 is simply magnificent. Soaring aromatics and layers of bright, vibrant fruit are two of the main signatures in the 2016. The tannins, so often hard in young Ang?lus...

2014 Chateau Angelus - St. Emilion Ex-Chateau release
The 2014 Angélus is now really beginning to blossom. It has an outstanding bouquet with plush but delineated black cherry and cassis fruit, crushed violet and just a hint of pencil lead. There is wonderful focus here. The palate is medium-bodied with t...

2024 Chateau Angelus - St. Emilion [Bordeaux Future ETA 2027]
The 2024 Angelus is very fine. It is the first vintage I have tasted that captures the newer approach at Angelus, one where the wines are not as extracted as in the past. Black cherry, plum, spice, new leather and menthol fill out the layers effortlessly....
2024 Chateau Ausone - St. Emilion [Bordeaux Future ETA 2027]
A classic blend of 65% Cabernet Franc and 35% Merlot resting in new barrels, the 2024 Château Ausone sports a vivid ruby hue to go with a gorgeous perfume of black raspberries, subtle cassis, graphite, sappy flowers, and lead pencil. It's gorgeous on the ...
