The 2015 Yanez is a dry and unoaked blend of 45% Furmint, 35% Pinot Gris and 20% Sauvignon Blanc from Štajerska-Slovenija in northeastern Slovenia, a cooler-climate area, and comes in at 13% alcohol. This is a tasty bargain. Crisp and gloriously fresh, even as a 2015 at this modest price level, this shows controlled tension and a spicy nuance on the finish. It is never really green, but it always shows an enticing touch of personality. Then, there's that burst of fruit, too, as it warms and airs out. Nicely done, this is a perfect summer refresher.
