The barley used to produce this whisky is grown on the distillery's Cadboll Estate and matured for 15 years in first-fill bourbon casks. This US exclusive from the Highland distillery shows an intense oak depth and a rounded profile. Nose and palate are showing classic Glenmorangie qualities with fruity character, creamy palate with layers of details. However, I was mostly impressed by the finish for this particular whisky. The lingering and rich finish just ends the experience wonderfully. Nose: Tropical fruits, honeycomb, oranges, white chocolate, sourdough, malt biscuit and heather Palate: Creamy with heather, pears, white pepper, kumquat, menthol and custard. Finish: Long and complex with chocolate notes, coffee beans, grapefruit, toasted oak, Christmas cake and white flowers.
