The English varieties bloom twice each year - with each bloom lasting about a month. The main bloom is mid-June and we time our festival to coincide with this peak period. These lavenders bloom a second time in the month of September. While the second bloom is not as profuse - many visitor enjoy the cooler season to visit the field. English lavender has a sweet floral aroma and is perfect for culinary applications. It is the beautiful English varieties we use in our award winning Lavender Gin. The longer stemmed French lavender - including the most fragrant Edelweiss comes into bloom in July. This variety of lavender has a more pale hue, and stronger scent making it ideal for aromatherapy & bath products.
