The GlenAllachie range was relaunched in mid-2018, following Billy Walker (formerly of BenRiach) purchasing the distillery in 2017. This particular release is an 18 year old expression, which was aged in American oak, Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso casks. Nose: Salted butter on crumpets, treacle tart, a whiff of cinnamon bun. Palate: Once again barley-forward, though now with kirsch and sultana notes in support. Finish: Caramelised dates and peanut butter.
