Hints of raw almond rise up from the 2020 Soave Classico with an alluring bouquet blending honeydew melon, apple and sweet white flowers. It's glycerol-like in texture yet lifted and spry, complicated by a sweet and sour display of zesty citrus and acids counterbalancing ripe apricot and pear. This finishes with persistence, yet it's fresh and perfumed as saline-minerals slowly fizzle out, leaving the mouth watering for more. The 2020 Gini Soave, a varietal Garganega, is a pleasure to taste, and it punches well above its price point.
