The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru is more backward and reticent compared to the Folati?res at the moment. Matured in 30% new oak, but I agreed with winemaker Brian Sieve that the wood is barely noticeable. The palate is well balanced with very subtle tropical notes of mango and passion fruit on the entry, dovetailing into more citric notes toward the tensile finish. Great potential. This should be superb once in bottle
