The 2016 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a gorgeous, expressive red from Caterina Dei. Sweet tobacco, licorice, cedar, dried herbs, menthol and licorice give the 2016 striking aromatic nuance and tons of Sangiovese character. Medium in body, refined and persistent, the 2016 is another winner in this range from Dei. A dash of Sangiovese flowers and spice adds the closing flourishes of complexity. This is such a pretty wine.
