The prominence of this type of aperitif wine in Piemontese gastronomy is such that Americano became a recognized category of aromatized wine, with Cocchi the most famous. Made to the same recipe since 1891, this is Cocchi's estate wine infused with herbs, fruit and spices, notably gentian, cinchona and citrus. In Piemonte it's served on ice with soda and wide peel of orange. Cocchi Americano adds depth and dimension to numerous classic mixed drinks.
