Usui (rainwater) was distilled using peated barley and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, wine, mizunara and sherry wood before blending. This is the second release in Akkeshi's "24 Solar Term" Series, a collection inspired by an ancient lunar calendar that divides the year into 24 seasons. Usui loosely translates to rainwater and represents the season that typically starts around February 19th when warmer weather begins melting snow and ice. A rich and fruity nose of citrus, raisins, and cocoa opens to a palate reminiscent of curacao displaying bright lemon, lime, & orange. A finish of milk chocolate is balanced by white peppercorn spice.
