From a classic vintage, the Brigaldara 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico offers elegance and power (with a hearty 16.5% alcohol content). The wine is redolent of dried fruit, baked cherry and plum, as well as sweet spice and tobacco. The density is not overblown, and indeed, the wine is full-bodied but not in an overwhelming sense like you might anticipate. The mouthfeel is smooth and velvety.
