Bottled at the end of March 2020, the 2018 Volnay En Carelle Sous La Chapelle 1er Cru offers fragrant red berry fruit with veins of blueberry on the nose that becomes increasingly floral with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry. This has more dimension and grip than the 2019 though not the same degree of purity and elegance. Still, it will surely age with style, but you might have to wait 3-5 years
