The 2016 Nero d’Avola Rosso di Contrada is gorgeous, yet a bit extroverted, showing masses of ripe wild berry fruits, backed by exotic spices, sweet florals and a hint of undergrowth. Soft textures usher in mineral-drenched cherry-berry fruits, and grippy acids make the mouth water as hints of wild herbs develop. This tapers off clean and fresh, yet it also displays impressive structure for an entry-level Rosso. The 2016 is already showing beautifully, but it has the potential to improve over the next few years in the cellar
