The 2020 Etna Bianco Le Vigne Niche-Montalto lifts up with unexpected depths and richness, showing young mango and lemon oils mixed with dusty dried flowers, underbrush and gingery spice. Its silky textures wash across the palate, with a soothing mix of ripe apple and pear that give way to savory herbal tones and hints of raw almond toward the close. This tapers off with a salty tinge and is incredibly fresh, leaving behind notes of green melon and stony mineral tones. The Montalto is sourced from vines on the southern slopes of Etna between 900 to 975 meters in elevation, planted in soils of deep volcanic ash.
