Coming from a warmer, sunnier terroir, the 2019 Hexe is a more black-fruited, powerful, masculine red based on 49% Grenache, 18% Petite Sirah, 16% Mourvèdre, and the rest Graciano and Syrah. Assorted dark fruits, chocolate, graphite, and chalky minerality all define the bouquet, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a deep, concentrated mid-palate, and a massive finish. It's not for those looking for lightweight aromas and flavors, but this is a singular beauty that could come from nowhere else.
