Lots of red plum and blackberry-like fruit as well as peppery herb, leather, and some floral notes emerge from the 2019 Gigondas Classique, a wonderfully balanced, silky, impossible to resist Gigondas. I love the overall balance here, and while I don’t think it’s going to be the longest lived Gigondas, it is just loaded with charm and character. Plan to drink bottles any time over the coming decade.
