The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Champonnets comes from a single 0.82-hectare parcel. It has a more sensual bouquet with redcurrant, raspberry and a touch of orange blossom that has good intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine chewy opening. There is very good weight here, quite a stocky Gevrey premier cru with a bit of sinew on the finish. This is another impressive wine from this ascendant domaine.
