Brezza's 2011 Barolo Riserva Sarmassa Vigna Bricco, from the top of Sarmassa, is decidedly firm and unyielding today, which is a bit out of character for the year, but also incredibly suggestive for the future. Hints of lavender, sage, violets and plums gradually open up in the glass, but this powerhouse is built for cellaring, so readers will have to be patient. The intensely savory finish is a thing of beauty
