A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Sangiovese, the 2019 San Pio is softly layered with a velvety texture and plenty of dark fruit aromas of plum and blackcurrant. The wine shows medium structure and is approachable overall, especially if paired with a breaded veal steak or meatloaf. It ferments in cement with spontaneous yeasts and ages in French oak for 18 months. Some 16,000 bottles were made.
