The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Calistoga emerges from Larkmead, one of the most historic estates in Napa Valley. The ripe dark fruit profile intermingled with hints of spice, dried herbs, earthiness, saddle leather and licorice is classic Calistoga all the way—as interpreted by Thomas Rivers Brown, which means the fruit is dialed up. Readers will find an exuberant, flamboyant Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers the goods.

Mostly from Larkmead (there's a few other vineyards in here for the first time), the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Calistoga has a great nose of savory red and black fruits as well as classic Larkmead loamy soil, walnut shell, and crushed stone notes. Medium to full-bodied and beautifully balanced, it has ripe tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. I'd give it a few years, but this should see its 20th birthday in fine form.
