Jobard's 2023 Meursault Village derives from his old-vine holdings in Les Pelles, below premier cru Gouttes d'Or, where the soils are deep but gravelly. This is the finest rendition I've tasted to date, offering up notes of pear and orange zest mingled with hints of citrus blossom and toasted nuts, followed by medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered palate that concludes with an elegantly perfumed finish (a characteristic likely derived from some Chardonnay "muscaté" selections growing in the upper part of this old-vine parcel).
