Deep Eddy Vodka was founded in Austin, Texas, in 2010 by Clayton Christopher and Chad Auler, drawing on Christopher's earlier experience building Sweet Leaf Tea and Auler's background founding Savvy Vodka. The brand takes its name from Deep Eddy Pool, the oldest spring-fed swimming hole in Texas, reflecting the laid-back Austin identity the company has cultivated ever since. Pineapple, released in February 2025 after roughly two years of development, marked the ninth flavor in the Deep Eddy lineup and filled what the brand described as a long-awaited gap for a tropical option among its real-fruit expressions.

Pineapple starts with Deep Eddy's award-winning Original Vodka, a corn-based spirit distilled ten times through a column still using water drawn from deep Texas aquifers. Real pineapple is incorporated into the base, and the finished spirit is filtered eight additional times to smooth out the profile before bottling. As with the rest of the Deep Eddy range, the vodka relies on real fruit rather than artificial flavoring, staying true to the brand's broader commitment to natural ingredients.

The nose opens with a bright, juicy burst of tropical pineapple that's immediately mouthwatering. On the palate, sun-ripened pineapple flavor comes through lush and full, balanced by a touch of natural sweetness rather than heavy syrupy sugar.
