Diplomatico Mantuano Rum 750ml

Diplomático is produced in Venezuela at a distillery with roots tracing back to 1959, when the Seagram's company helped consolidate the country's spirits production into a single facility built to produce rum, whiskey, and other spirits. The distillery, located near the Venezuelan Andes, has since become one of the country's most recognized rum producers, blending traditional methods with modern distillation technology. Mantuano takes its name from a historic Venezuelan cocoa-producing region and sits in the middle of the brand's core lineup, alongside the Añejo and Reserva Exclusiva.

Mantuano is a blend of column, batch kettle, and pot still rums, distilled from a combination of molasses and sugar cane honey. The blended rums are aged separately for up to eight years in white oak barrels previously used to mature bourbon and malt whisky, a process that builds layered flavor before the components are brought together into the final blend.

The nose offers dried plum, oak, and a light touch of spice, while the palate brings dried fruit, vanilla, and warm baking spice over a smooth, well balanced structure with a gentle sweetness on the finish. Mantuano performs well in classic rum cocktails such as a Dark 'n' Stormy, and holds up equally well served neat or over ice.
