Heaven's Door Ascension Bourbon Whiskey 750ml

Heaven's Door is the whiskey brand created by musician Bob Dylan, built around the union of craft whiskey and Dylan's own ironwork art from his Black Buffalo Ironworks studio. Ascension marks the company's first bourbon distilled at its own facility, the newly built Heaven's Door Distillery at Six Mile Creek in Kentucky, blended under the direction of master blender Alex Moore.

Ascension blends two Kentucky straight bourbons with different mash bills, one leaning corn forward with a touch of rye and malted barley, the other built around a noticeably higher rye percentage for extra spice. Each bourbon is aged more than five years before the two are brought together in small batches of ten barrels or fewer, a scale that lets the blending team fine tune the balance batch by batch. The finished whiskey is left non-chill filtered to preserve its natural oils and texture, then bottled at 92 proof.

The nose leads with toasted oak, caramel, and vanilla bean, layered with baked bread and a whisper of dried fruit. On the palate, buttery toffee and baked bread meet nutmeg and soft pepper spice over a base of sweet corn and oak. The finish stays warm and lightly spiced.
