All Sepp Moser wines are vinified centrally at the Sepp Moser Winery in Rohrendorf (Kremstal). The grapes in Sepp Zweigelt were de-stemmed, crushed and underwent partial cold maceration. In 1997, Catherine Roque, already a vigneronne in the Vallée de L’Orb, acquired Mas D’Alezon and its 7 hectares in the northern corner of Faugères. The vineyards are in the village of Soumatre and, ranging from 350 to 450 meters in altitude, are the highest in the appellation. Catherine’s vineyard is certified organic and she employs bio-dynamic principles to enhance the health of the soil and the plants. Catherine grows Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah for her reds and Clairette and Roussanne for her white. The average age of her vines is 25 years, including plots of 70 year old Grenache and 80 year old Mourvèdre. Due to the combination of infertile soils and cool micro-climate, her grapes are very slow to ripen and yields are typically 20 to 25 hl/ha. The domain’s two red wines are vinified similarly.
The Montfalette is 80% Mourvèdre with the rest a blend of Syrah and Grenache.
The 2021 Sancerre La Moussiere was tasted as a finished wine still in tank
and offers attractive purity and balance. There's tenderness through the
mid palate, concentration and ripe fruit, which is no mean feat in the cool
2021 season
ONNA is a red wine produced with the grape varieties Tempranillo and Syrah from 100% organic certificate vineyards grown in Penedes region. Onna red is a wine with an intense and elegant aroma of ripe red fruit and jam, pleasant with a soft sweetness. Aged 3 months in Allier French oak.
A light, elegant red with freshness and crunchy raspberry and redcurrant fruit. Nice savoury hints of spice, sage, liquorice and violet.
Try it lightly chilled with spicy foods.
Blauer Zweigelt is the most important red grape variety grown on Sepp Moser’s Apetlon Estate, situated in the Neusiedlersee region of Austria. The summers in this region are very hot and dry; the vineyards are less than 1 km away from the Hungarian border. The deep, dark humous soils (well streaked with gravel) contribute to the smoothness of the wines produced here. The grapes are organically produced and hand harvested in September. All Sepp Moser wines are vinified centrally at the Sepp Moser Winery in Rohrendorf (Kremstal). The grapes in Sepp Zweigelt were de-stemmed, crushed and underwent partial cold maceration. The must was then fermented and given a brief period of ageing in stainless steel before being bottled in February.
