Purkhart Pear Williams Eau de vie 750ml

Since 1932 the Purkhart family has distilled award-winning eaux-de-vie, schnapps, and liqueurs, building a name synonymous with precision fruit distillation. Günter Purkhart, the family's exacting standard-bearer, has gone on to teach distillation technique to many of today's leading producers, and the family's guiding passion has always been capturing the true character of ripe fruit in every bottle.

This eau-de-vie is made exclusively from Williams pears grown in South Tirol, also known as Alto Adige or Südtirol, a mountainous borderland between Italy and Austria whose fruit is prized for its opulent, creamy ripeness. The pears are harvested, crushed, and fermented before undergoing a double distillation, the standard method for eaux-de-vie, and the resulting spirit is composed of nothing but distilled pear and water, left unaged to preserve the fruit's natural character.

The nose is lively and fragrant with the scent of ripe pear, while the palate is stimulating and layered, carrying real depth of pear flavor through to a long, clean finish. It shows best served at cool room temperature, where its full range of floral and fruity aromatics comes through.
