Rhum J.M. Blanc 100pf Rum 700ml
Rhum J.M. is produced at Habitation Bellevue in Macouba, Martinique, on the slopes of the volcano Mt. Pelée, and holds the distinction of being the smallest producer of rhum agricole on the island. J.M. is unique in being the last rhumerie on Martinique to work exclusively with estate grown sugarcane, a commitment rooted in the exceptional quality of cane that comes from the property's distinctive microclimate, shaped by tropical humidity and protection from the coastal marine layer.
The sugarcane is harvested each spring and pressed within an hour of cutting to preserve the freshness of the juice. That juice ferments naturally into a light sugarcane wine before being run through a traditional Créole copper column still, capturing the terroir driven character the estate is known for. The distillate rests in stainless steel tanks for several months and is gradually proofed down using spring water sourced from Mt. Pelée before bottling at 100 proof, well above the standard strength typical of white agricole rhum.
The nose bursts with ripe tropical fruit, including mango, overripe banana, and papaya, layered with a wild, funky earthiness distinctive to agricole rhum. On the palate, fresh sugarcane and tropical fruit intensity carry through, backed by grassy, vegetal notes and a mineral edge. Its bold proof and vibrant character make it a favorite base for classic Martinique cocktails such as the Ti' Punch or a Daiquiri.
