Sauza Hornitos Reposado Tequila 750ml

Sauza was founded in 1873 by Don Cenobio Sauza at La Perseverancia distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, making it one of the region's oldest producers. A later family member, Don Francisco Javier Sauza, helped push the Mexican government to formally establish Jalisco as the exclusive origin for genuine tequila in 1974. Hornitos, meaning "little ovens" in reference to the traditional pits once used to roast agave, was introduced in 1950 to mark the anniversary of Mexican independence and has remained one of the brand's signature lines ever since.

This Reposado is distilled from 100% blue Weber agave, twice distilled before resting for a minimum of two months. Rather than small individual barrels, Hornitos ages its spirit in large oak vats holding up to 10,000 gallons, a method chosen deliberately to limit wood contact. That approach keeps the agave character bright and forward rather than letting oak dominate, resulting in a lighter, more lively style of reposado than many of its barrel-aged peers.

The color runs pale straw, with an aroma built on fresh agave, green apple, and light herbal notes. On the palate, that same apple and herbal quality carries through, layered with a gentle woodiness and a touch of baking spice. The finish is warm and medium bodied, closing with a slightly drying, peppery edge. Its bright, food-friendly profile makes it a natural fit for grilled shrimp tacos, ceviche, or spicy chorizo.
