Shot Tower Gin comes from Baltimore Spirits Company, a craft distillery in Baltimore's Jones Falls corridor built around copper pot stills, open-top wooden fermentation, and geothermal cooling. The gin holds a notable place in the city's spirits history as the first gin legally distilled in Baltimore since Prohibition. Its name honors the Phoenix Shot Tower, a landmark structure in downtown Baltimore once used to produce musket ball ammunition by dropping molten lead from the top of the tower into a vat of cold water below, and which stood as the tallest building in America until 1846.

The gin starts from a corn base and draws on a botanical bill built around juniper, coriander, curaçao orange peels, jasmine flower, green tea, angelica root, and cassia. Rather than following a strict London Dry template, the recipe leans into floral and tea-driven notes alongside the traditional citrus and spice, giving the gin a distinctly American character. It is bottled at 100 proof, a robust strength that keeps the botanicals well defined even when mixed.

On the nose, jasmine and other floral notes take precedence over the juniper, balanced by a drier, peppercorn-like quality and fresh citrus peel. The palate carries that same floral character through, with green tea adding a light tannic edge and the angelica root and cassia filling in warmth underneath. The finish is clean and classic, versatile enough for a range of gin cocktails.
