SirDavis Rye Whiskey 750ml
SirDavis was founded by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter in partnership with Moët Hennessy, marking the first Moët Hennessy brand built from scratch in the United States rather than acquired. The name honors her paternal great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, a farmer who distilled moonshine during Prohibition and reportedly hid bottles for friends to find. The whisky was crafted by Dr. Bill Lumsden, the veteran master distiller behind Glenmorangie and Ardbeg, bringing Scotch whisky expertise to an American rye release.
The mash bill runs 51 percent rye and 49 percent malted barley, a split that softens the grain's typical spice with a rounder, creamier base. After maturing in American oak, the whisky undergoes a secondary finish in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, a step that folds in dark fruit and sweetness alongside the rye's natural character. It is bottled at 44 percent ABV, non-chill filtered, and finished and bottled in Texas, Knowles-Carter's home state.
The nose brings Seville orange and sun-dried raisin together with clove, cinnamon, and ginger, rounded out by Demerara sugar and toffee. On the palate, rye spice meets the malted barley's creamy texture, while the sherry cask influence layers in ripe berries, fig, and honey. The finish runs long, closing on oak, warm spice, and a gentle sherried sweetness that lingers well after the last sip.
