Ten To One Black History Month Artist Edition Rum 750ml
Ten To One Rum was founded in 2019 by Marc Farrell with the goal of reshaping how rum is perceived, highlighting the spirit's versatility and deep Caribbean heritage. In 2023, the brand marked Black History Month with a special collaboration, partnering with Brooklyn based visual artist Devin B. Johnson to release a limited edition of their award winning Caribbean Dark Rum. Johnson, known for expressive, layered work centering memory and history, created an original piece titled Inner Glow for the label, using a blue palette rooted in West African symbolism to represent unity and the African diaspora. A portion of proceeds from the release supports ARTNOIR, an organization championing artists of color.
The rum itself is a pan Caribbean blend built from eight year old Barbados and Dominican column still rums, combined with high ester Jamaican pot still rum and Trinidadian rum. Each component is aged separately in American white oak ex bourbon casks before blending, with no added sugar, coloring, or flavoring, and the finished rum is bottled at a slightly elevated 86 proof.
The nose is rich and honeyed, layered with dried fruit and baking spice. On the palate, cooked fruit, allspice, nutmeg, and vanilla come together in a full bodied profile, leading to a long, warm finish. It suits sipping neat or a classic Old Fashioned.
