Wolfberger Litchi Neo (Lychee) Liqueur 750ml

Wolfberger traces back to 1902, when a group of winemakers in Eguisheim, in the Alsace region of France, united to form one of the area's first wine cooperatives. Over the following century the cooperative built a reputation for its wines and Crémant d'Alsace, eventually expanding into a full line of fruit liqueurs and spirits drawn from the region's orchards. Today the producer farms roughly 1,200 hectares across southern Alsace and continues to age its most prestigious wines in large oak foudres, while its Néo line applies that same fruit forward character to a modern, vibrant liqueur format.

Litchi Néo is built around lychee, sourced and infused to capture the fruit's delicate, distinctly Asian floral character rather than a generic tropical sweetness. The liqueur is styled almost like an aperitif wine, taking on a pale pink blush reminiscent of a glass of rosé, and is bottled at 21 percent alcohol by volume as part of Wolfberger's broader Néo range of fruit liqueurs meant for both sipping and mixing.

On the nose it is boldly floral, almost like rosewater, layered with fragrant passion fruit and rose petal alongside the core lychee character. The palate turns tart and bright, with luscious tropical fruit and violet notes carrying through to a nutty finish, fading toward floral on the way out. It earned 91 points from Wine Enthusiast in 2015 and is best served well chilled, either on its own or topped with sparkling wine.
