Eisele Vineyards has been owned by the Artemis Group owners of Chateau Latour, Clos du Tart, Champagne Jaquesson and Bouchard Pere et Files since 2013.
Eisele's signature Cabernet Sauvignon is prized for its ability to age well, and the intensity and complexity of its bouquet. Its Altagracia second wine is a Bordeaux blend made with grape varieties from the east of the Eisele Vineyard. The freshness and tension of its Sauvignon Blanc are attributed to the fact that it uses grapes grown on parcels of vines sheltered from direct sun exposure at the foot of the surrounding hills.
As part of conserving the unique characteristics of the Eisele terroir, its technical team has been applying organic methods since 1998, and biodynamic methods since 2000.
"This is an exceptional vintage. The 2019 Altagracia Cabernet emerges out of the glass with intense aromas of black cherries, black currant liqueur and blackberry pie spiced up with cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of rosewood and sandalwood. The mouthfeel is ample and supple, velvety yet vibrant with fine powdery tannins, a bright freshness and sparkling energy. The long and savory finish lingers with spices framed by a hint of saltiness. As the wine opens, layers of floral notes, pencil shavings and volcanic stones add to the complexity. This is a very enticing and captivating Altagracia that reflects the complexity of its soils, the generosity of its climate and the vitality of its plants; in other words: a wine true to its terroir." Winemaker's Notes
2019 Eisele Vineyard - Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Altagracia
"There's purity and focus to this wine with blackberry, blackcurrant and spices, such as nutmeg. Ink pot, bark and asphalt, too. So long and polished. Chewy tannins. Hints of stone and ash. 88% cabernet sauvignon. 7% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot. Give it time to soften, but already a beauty."
