2023 Domaine de l'Aumonier - Touraine Sauvignon Blanc (750ml)

This comes from vines averaging 20 years old growing in the communes of Couffy, Seigy and Chateauvieux just south of the Cher River, a major tributary of the Loire. The Loire Valley is an open window to the Atlantic, blessing the region with clement weather. L’Aumonier’s soils range from tufa hillsides rich in clay and limestone to flatter sites of flint and clay, sand and clay, and silt and clay. Ferments are typically spontaneous (the occasional difficult tank may get a dose of neutral yeast) and the wine is raised in tank. There's no fining during élevage and only a light filtration at bottling. Production averages 8,500 cases.

Note that during warmer harvests, they do their harvesting at night to retain as much freshness in the grapes as possible.
Certified organic and biodynamic
A deep garnet red colour with well-blended fruit aromas of raspberry and blackberry and a hint of liquorice on a spicy background. The palate is both velvety and generous with supple fruit.
Enjoy with roasted vegetables, slow-cooked meat dishes or fresh goat’s cheeses.
A straw coloured wine, the delicate nose showing subtle floral aromas and hints of peaches and apricots. A full wine with notes of honey and citrus on the finish.
Enjoy as an aperitif, or with a wide range of lighter dishes, mixed salads and cheeses.
GRAPE VARIETIES: 40% Viognier, 20% Grenache Blanc, 20% Roussanne and Marsanne, 20% Clairette and Bourboulenc

Produced from the south-east side of the Dentelles de Montmirail hills, in Beaumes de Venise in the southern part of the Rhone valley, Muscat de Beaumes de Venise is gold in color with butterscotch, glazed fruits aromas, apricot and ripe pear, floral notes. “Lo Sang del Pais” translates as “the blood of the countryside” and one can easily feel the life-force of this wine. The grape bunches are hand harvested and after being de-stemmed they are fed into fermentation tanks using gravity flow.
