It is a family run company, who has been producing wine from its own grapes for generations. At the beginning of the 20th century, Giuseppe, the grandfather, who was share-farmer, started his activity of growing grapes. Later on, he purchased a small farm and together with his son Aldo, expanded the family property planting new vines. The grandsons, Marco e Vittorio, continued this expansion, introducing big changes as the wine-making and the bottling of their own production. The farm has currently an extension of 23 hectares of vineyards.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHistory\r\n\r\nThe estate is located in the heart of the Langhe region of Piedmont in the San Rocco Seno d\u0027Elvio township. Marco and Vittorio Adriano cultivate vines and vinify exclusively with their own grapes to make wines that wholly reflect the terroir. The Adriano family began winemaking at the turn of the last century when Giuseppe, a tenant farmer began to cultivate vines. His son Aldo joined him in the enterprise and together they bought and planted a small estate.\r\n \r\nIn turn, the grandchildren Marco and Vittorio, cultivated the love for their land and its fruits, making the company grow: It is the 1994 harvest when they decide to wine their grapes by bottling the first bottles with the label Adriano. Nowadays, the estate encompasses 50 hectares, of which 10 hectares are devoted to hazelnuts, 10 are forested or lie fallow and 30 hectares are given over to Nebbiolo and Barbaresco, along with Barbera, Dolcetto, Freisa, Sauvignon Blanc and white Moscato vines.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nVinification\r\n\r\nAfter a careful selection, the grapes are crushed before undergoing the traditional-style fermentation on the skins in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 28 ?C. After about 10 days the wine is separated from the skins and seeds, and several rackings are performed over the following months to obtain a clear, clean product. After some months in stainless steel tanks, the wine is maturated for a year in medium -sized oak casks from 35 to 50 hl.Ageing in bottle: More than one year months\r\n\r\n","Blurb3":null,"ItemNumber":86680,"LimitedToStores":false,"Score1":"90","Score2":null,"Score3":null,"SourceId1":2,"SourceId2":0,"SourceId3":0,"Id":29748},"BlurbSource":{"Name":"Wine Spectator","Abbreviation":"WS","Id":2},"CategoryId":1,"Producer":"Adriano Marco \u0026 Vittorio","Id":175583,"CustomProperties":{}},{"Name":"2019 Agricola Punica - Montessu","ShortDescription":"","FullDescription":null,"SeName":"2019-agricola-punica-montessu","StockQuantity":11,"Sku":"88215","BottleSize":"750ml","ProductType":5,"MarkAsNew":false,"ProductPrice":{"OldPrice":null,"OldPriceValue":null,"Price":"$25.99","PriceValue":25.9900,"BasePricePAngV":null,"BasePricePAngVValue":null,"DisableBuyButton":false,"DisableWishlistButton":false,"DisableAddToCompareListButton":true,"AvailableForPreOrder":false,"PreOrderAvailabilityStartDateTimeUtc":null,"IsRental":false,"ForceRedirectionAfterAddingToCart":false,"DisplayTaxShippingInfo":false,"CustomProperties":{}},"DefaultPictureModel":{"ImageUrl":"https://www.bassins.com/images/thumbs/008/0080740_2019-agricola-punica-montessu_360.jpeg","ThumbImageUrl":null,"FullSizeImageUrl":"https://www.bassins.com/images/thumbs/008/0080740_2019-agricola-punica-montessu.jpeg","Title":"2019 Agricola Punica - Montessu","AlternateText":"2019 Agricola Punica - Montessu","CustomProperties":{}},"ProductSpecificationModel":{"Groups":[],"CustomProperties":{}},"ReviewOverviewModel":{"ProductId":176570,"RatingSum":0,"TotalReviews":0,"AllowCustomerReviews":false,"CanAddNewReview":true,"CustomProperties":{}},"Blurb":{"Author1":"James Suckling","Author2":null,"Author3":null,"Blurb1":"A rich and dense red from Sardinia with dark berries and plums, as well as walnuts and bark. Bright yellow-gold. Fresh pit fruits, orange and a hint of smokiness on the nose and in the mouth. Chewy and focused, showing good depth and building spiciness on the nicely persistent finish, which leaves a hint of yellow plum behind.
Attractive cherry and raspberry aromas with citrus fruit follow through to a medium to full body, firm, silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink or hold.
This single vineyard cru comes from Colbertaldo di Vidor in the Valdobbiadene DOCG region. First produced in 1933, it has become the estate's flagship Prosecco. Recognized by Gambero Rosso as one of Italy's top Prosecco wines year after year. The vineyard faces southwest and the oldest vines are 100 years old. The winemaking process involves light pressing followed by temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine spends 3 months on lees in stainless steel. The secondary fermentation occurs in autoclaves initiated in batches up to 7 times throughout the year to preserve freshness.
There’s persistent, dried red-fruit character, despite the dominance of more savory elements which are moving into the charcuterie/dried-mushroom zone. Medium body with fresh, spicy flavors and a hint of kumquat to freshen up the finish.
A decent, mature sagrantino, still showing some fresh-plum and rose-petal character. The center-palate has lost out a bit during the aging process, but it’s nice to drink now.
