From the Monção e Melgaço sub-region of northern Portugal, the natural home of the alvarinho grape, and made by one of its finest producers, who uses a little skin contact (hence the name) to give structure to this invigorating linear dinner-table white.

Contacto Alvarinho is obtained from the noble Alvarinho grape variety, grown exclusively in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço. For the production of this wine vineyards alongside the river were selected at a low altitude and with deep soils with a high content of pebbles. The wine has complexity, minerality and the bitterness of Alvarinho.
KEY POINTS
Handpicked grapes into small boxes and carried to the winery in a short period of time. Total de-stemming. Short skin maceration. Medium cold clarification. Long fermentation at low temperatures:14-18ºC. Minimum 3-month ageing on fine lees with regular bâtonnage.
