Breckenridge Gin 750ml
Breckenridge Gin comes from Breckenridge Distillery, sometimes called the highest distillery in the world thanks to its location at 9,600 feet elevation in the Colorado Rockies. Better known for its award-winning bourbon, the distillery brings that same attention to craft into its gin program, distilling everything on a custom-built Vendome copper pot still. The gin has earned recognition in its own right, including a title for Best Compound Gin at the World Gin Awards.
The gin starts from a base of one hundred percent neutral grain spirit and is built around eleven botanicals, combining traditional and locally sourced ingredients. Heartier botanicals like juniper and coriander go through direct maceration in the pot to pull out spicy, robust flavors, while more delicate elements are introduced through a botanical basket during distillation to preserve their brighter, more fragile character. The finished spirit is bottled at 45 percent alcohol by volume.
The nose opens with classic juniper, joined by citrus, floral notes, and earthy spice, with a subtle hint of mountain pine underneath. On the palate, juniper stays at the center, supported by bright lemon zest, cardamom, and coriander, with black pepper and a touch of hibiscus adding complexity in the middle. The finish is smooth and moderately long, closing with piney juniper and warm bitter orange that linger pleasantly on the back of the throat.
