Amazing new cellar purchase – The 1995 First Growths
Perfect for any anniversary ending in “five” this year! An amazing collection from the excellent 1995 vintage with superb provenance. 1995 will always be remembered as the start of a new era for Bordeaux. After a string of inconsistent vintages, mother nature really cooperated in 1995 and the rest is history…1995’s have always been structured and built for the long haul (they remind me 1986 in some way) and are finally starting to come around. These are sealed cases bought and stored in a pristine cellar since release. A great opportunity for sure to own some of the best wines made anywhere in 1995!

The nose is layer upon layer of ebullient, red-berried fruit: raspberries, crushed strawberries, lavish creamy new oak and a touch of vanilla pod. I would describe it as “slutty” in the hands of a lesser estate. The palate is full-bodied with plush red-berried fruit, at the moment firmly under the governance of the Merlot with a sexy, lascivious finish. The word that comes to mind is: orgiastic.
