The agave grown at this level hits a higher brix sugar level owing to a porous soil and a climate that stresses the agave more. The nose is packed with lime, pepper, and other citrus fruits, but it isn't overly zesty. It's there, but it's subdued and concentrated. Amazingly flavorful considering it's so mild! Rust/cordovan color; immaculate clarity. Subtle aromas of tree bark, sap, orange pekoe tea, and oak resins nicely underpin the dried-fruit fragrance of dates and figs...entry is intensely woody and dried fruit-like; midpalate is the apex moment in which all the components, the oak, fruit, acidity, and forest earthiness comingle nicely. Aftertaste is nuanced, dry, resiny/oaky, and tobacco-like.
